Understanding climate change is the first step to making a difference. If people don’t know what’s causing global warming or how it affects our world, they can’t take action. That’s why we offer clear and easy-to-understand climate education. When people learn the facts, they’re more likely to take climate action that supports climate justice and helps protect our planet.

  

What is Climate Change and Why Does it Matter?

In 2015, world leaders signed the Paris Agreement, promising to keep global temperatures from rising more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Scientists agree that climate change is caused by human activity, like burning fossil fuels and cutting down forests. If we don’t act, rising temperatures will lead to more extreme weather, wildfires, floods, and other serious problems.

Climate Change is Unfair

Climate injustice means that not everyone is affected the same way. Wealthy people, countries, and big companies create most of the pollution, but low-income communities and communities of color are hit the hardest. These groups often have fewer resources to recover from disasters caused by climate change.

How Can We Create a Better Future?

To fight climate change and build a fairer world, we need to:

• Share resources more equally

• Support sustainable development

• Teach people about the causes and solutions of climate change

• Work together across all parts of society

When people understand the problem and know what they can do, they can use their strengths to create powerful, justice-centered climate solutions.
