PLANETARY BOUNDARIES FRESCO
The planetary boundaries were first presented by scientists at leading institutes including the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. The 9 planetary boundaries are the interconnected Earth systems that define the safe operating space for humanity. Crossing these boundaries increases the risk of destabilizing critical life support systems.

This in-person 3-hour fosters a holistic understanding of the interconnectedness of various environmental factors.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Inspired by the Climate Fresk, the Planetary Boundaries Fresco is an interactive card-based workshop. It explores the interconnections between different environmental systems using a systems-thinking approach. After completing the workshop, you should be able to apply systems thinking to sustainability problems and solutions.

As a participant, you will work with others to arrange cards representing the 9 planetary boundaries and the causes and consequences of crossing them. The workshop is science-based, led by trained facilitators, and encourages collaborative learning and discussion.

The local San Diego facilitators are supported by a global network of educators, researchers, and scientists who ensure the workshop continuously evolves with the latest scientific findings. Learn more at somewhatgreener.com and 1erdegr.earth
