Explore the importance of energy literacy and start (or continue!) your energy literacy journey with the definition of energy.  This unit helps you visualize how energy moves through ecosystems, identify different forms of energy, summarize the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics, and measure energy and power. It is 20:09 minutes in duration and includes 6 multiple-choice questions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completing this unit, you should be able to:

  1. Summarize the importance of energy literacy, 

  2. Define energy and name the natural and market sources of energy, 

  3. Explain the difference between potential energy and kinetic energy using everyday examples, 

  4. State the first and second laws of thermodynamics, and 

  5. Define power and identify units of measuring power.
