COMMUNITY CLEAN ENERGY MICROCREDENTIAL
The Community Clean Energy Microcredential (CCEM) is a cumulative qualification that combines IGC's Carbon Literacy Certificate, the San Diego Urban Sustainability Coalition's Climate Ambassador training, and the joint Energy Equity Training. Earning a CCEM demonstrates your knowledge and commitment to implementing and advocating for clean energy in your community.
When you earn the CCEM you will receive a hard copy certificate, a digital badge, a lapel pin, and will be recognized at a celebration event.
WHY EARN A MICROCREDENTIAL?
Earning a CCEM offers several valuable benefits. Most importantly, it prepares you to take an active role in the transition to a clean energy economy. The CCEM will help you:
-
Build a strong foundation in climate change causes, consequences, and solutions; the central role of energy in the problems of the past/present and solutions of the future; climate justice, and civic engagement;
-
Use this foundation to evaluate possible solutions to the impacts of climate change in your community;
-
Integrate these solutions into your roles at home, in the community, and at work; and
-
Influence justice-centered change through civic engagement.
There are also important professional benefits of earning a CCEM. A microcredential can enhance your career opportunities by demonstrating your expertise and commitment to advancing justice-centered climate solutions. Employers often prefer candidates with relevant certifications, which can make it easier for you to secure job opportunities, promotions, and negotiate for higher pay.
HOW DO I EARN A CCEM?
You can earn the microcredential by successfully completing (or stacking) three programs: the Climate Ambassador Training, the Carbon Literacy Certificate, and the Energy Equity Training. You do not need to complete each component in any particular order and there's no need to apply for the microcredential.
